I study EBay lens postings for Nikkor and Carl Zeiss. I happen to take a chance on a Carl Zeiss 70-210mm that offered macro throughout the focal range. “New in the box” was stated. When I received the lens it was as stated however one reason it possibility was not sold was the filter ring was damaged. Not bad enough to prevent the use of one though. I bet that the lens could be mounted to my Canon Rebel XT. Well, after several days fussing let’s just say I succeeded in my goal. Tolerances are tight, one must get the rear of the lens as close to the sensor as possible. Keep an eye out for photos to be posted in the future taken with this lens!
