If you met this man and ask him his name, he would tell you “Shane”. This Desperado came in the Shoppe inquiring about needing a work horse to help him ride the trails of the Black River Forest in the State of Wisconsin. Being young and strong as he can be, he wanted to be a strong contender in the WARS race series and make the other riders work that much harder. He spent 3 years doing those races until he decided he needed a greater challenge. Shane took this Metax Racer silver fillet brazed ride from Montana to New Mexico for an all off road ride of the Continental Divide. The folks at Bob Trailers replaced his carrier twice wondering what he was doing and the locals scoffed at the custom wheels that I built him saying that they would never make it. But it all did. When New Mexico came and went Shane continues to ride on the machine that makes all his rides possible since 1994. Packed with a great collection of high end parts that include Chris King headset, Ringle seatpost, Ti-Tec handlebars held on bay a forged Salsa stem. The cranks are CRO-Molly tubular Bullseye sporting a set of Speedplay Frog pedals. The wheel set comprised with Bullseye hubs, Union Ti spokes and Sun rims. If you see Shane anywhere on the trails, expect this humble, high energy Desperado to make the day interesting!
