Jim is no stranger to the bicycle world. He has been a valued customer since 1989. Owning many ‘dream machines’ from the Shoppe manufactured by such builders as Klein, Fat Chance and American Bicycle Manufacture, he came in to purchase in 2002 a single speed. This was to replace the Redline that started his passion for gearless rides. Needing that performance that only a custom from the Desperado could
provide, a pure True Temper Platinum tube-set adorns this dream machine.
We figure the weight to be around 20lbs… We will get an accurate
weight after we stop by the Post Office scale. The field shots are the
beginnings for Lill’ Mule. After a season of tromping the grounds
at the Southern Kettles State Park in Wisconsin, we cut the fork column
and lengthened the stem to 130mm. The AMP fork is still available from
the Shoppe, and is still the lightest available. |
